NSIS is an independent, non-profit society dedicated to the economic development and diversification of the Northwest BC Region through the application and/or use of science and technology. Our members live and work throughout the Northwest British Columbia region and represent a broad range of interests in local industry, business, education and government.
As the region’s science and technology champion, NSIS:
- fosters a culture that values science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship as activities vital to maintaining and enhancing the global competitiveness of the region;
- encourages growth of high-tech projects, educates entrepreneurs, and enhances science and technology awareness in the community;
- advocates research, development and application of science, technology and innovation;
- facilitates the presentation of seminars and community forums in collaboration with associate organizations, and participates on committees and community groups focused on developing diverse regional economies in northwest communities.
